Senior Vice President, Government Relations and Grocery Division
David Wilkes is the Senior Vice President Government Relations and Grocery Division. David is responsible for leading both RCC’s Government Relations activities, as well as the Council’s Grocery Division. As the Voice of Retail, RCC is engaged with municipal, provincial and federal governments across the country on several issues including Food & Product Safety, Health & Wellness, Sustainability and Labour.
David also has responsibility for leading RCC’s Secretariat work for the Grocer Manufacturers Collaborative, a group of ten CEOs comprised of leading Canadian grocery and consumer packaged goods suppliers and retailers.
Prior to joining RCC, David was the Senior Vice President of Trade and Business Development for the former Canadian Council of Grocery Distributors (CCGD). David has also served as the President of the Coffee Association of Canada. Prior to that, David was with the Ontario Government for six years where he served as the Executive Assistant to the Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade.
David has served on several community groups including the Board of Governors of George Brown College where he chaired the Academic and Student Advisory Committee, Ryerson School of Retail Management Program Advisory Council Committee and the Board of Governors for the Ontario Curling Association.
